PhotoSHOP : About Paths

-To see the path, we must first choose the Paths palette.

-To display the Paths palette, we select Window> Paths.

-To select a path, click the path name in Paths palette. Only one path can be selected.

-To cancel a path, we click on an empty area of palette point or press Esc.

To change the size of a thumbnail-path, select Palette Options from the Paths palette menu and select the size,

or select None to turn off the display area of the thumbnail.

-To change the order of the composition, select the path in the Paths palette and drag up or down.

When the black line appears at the desired location, release the mouse button.

Manage paths

If we use a pen or shape tool to create a work path,

new path will appear to work in the Paths palette.

Path for temporary work; we should keep it to avoid losing its contents.

If we use the path without saving and start drawing again, a new path will replace the existing ones.

If we use a pen or shape tool to create a new shape layer, the new path appears as a vector mask in the Paths palette.

Vector masks are connected to the parent layer, we must select the parent layer in the palette for a list of the clipping path in the Paths palette.

We can remove the clipping path of the layer and change layer with a rasterized mask clipping.

The path is stored with the picture appears when we open again.

In Windows, Photoshop, JPEG, JPEG 2000, DCS, EPS, PDF, and TIFF format support on the path.

In Mac OS, all the available file formats support paths.

To create a new path in the Paths palette
To create a path without naming, click the New Path button at the bottom of the Paths palette.
To create and name a path, make sure there is no work path is selected.
Choose New Path from the Paths palette menu, or Alt-click (Windows) or Option-click (Mac OS) the New Path button at the bottom of the palette.
Enter a name for the path in the New Path dialog box,
and click OK.

To save the work path
To save without a name, drag the path name to the New Path button at the bottom of the Paths palette.
To save and rename, choose Save Path from the Paths palette menu, enter the new path name in the Save Path dialog box,
and click OK.

To rename a saved path
Double-click path name in Paths palette,
type a new name, and press Enter (Windows)
or Return (Mac OS).
